Bears Kick-Off Tailgate

To all football team alumni,

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the start of another football season.

I just wanted to send out this announcement from the university, which details the first home game kickoff event honoring the life of Coach Mazzaferro on September 13. You can register for the kickoff event through this link. We hope to get a great turnout

We are in the process of updating the Bears Football Alumni website. We are thinking of adding a current news blog, which would feature submissions sent in from all of you, highlighting your teammates’ achievements or honors.

Examples of news items that would be of interest to all football alumni include topics like:

• “Mike White, ‘89 graduate, has been named the new head coach at Lincoln High School after 15 years serving as assistant coach.”
• “Rick Jones, class of ‘74, just celebrated his 200th win at Johnson High School.”

Once we receive about 10 news items, we’ll post them on the website for everyone to see. We’re still ironing out the screening process and will let all of you know when we’re ready for submissions.

In the meantime, please send me any information you may receive concerning the passing of a teammate. We will get those out immediately.

Hope to see as many of you as possible on September 13.
